DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION

Distance Education is an established and recognized mode of education which is in consonance with changing socio-economic needs and emerging demands of the knowledge era. Keeping up with the spirit of Open University system and in accordance with the National Policy of Education which lays emphasis on continuing and distance education, the University is running various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses through correspondence since 1988. For the purpose of providing quality education and also to make the courses comparable on national and international level, the status of Directorate of Correspondence courses was upgraded to Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) in 1992.

Two years back, Directorate took the initiative of starting courses related to Management and Law. In these courses necessary thrust is on field work and training so that students of Directorate can take up responsible positions in different areas of international business in corporate sector and in the field of law.

Thus directorate has identified the societal needs and is meeting them through its undergraduate and postgraduate courses successfully. In tune with the ongoing concern and keeping in view the IT concept, Directorate of Distance Education, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak has drawn up various postgraduate, undergraduate and diploma courses in IT programmes from January 2001, which can be completed at the time and pace set by the student himself.

On completion of M.Sc Computer Science (Previous), students will be awarded APGDCA. Students having APGDCA / APGDIT / PGDIT / PGDCA / ADIT from a recognized/ deemed university after three years Bachelor degree can seek admission directly to final year of M.Sc (Computer Science) i.e. 3rd Semester.
